Bright Sonshine

Yesterday I was sitting at my desk, and I noticed the sunlight coming through the blinds behind me. The light was hitting my desk and also my back.  It made everything around me brighter.  And I thought to myself, isn’t that just like Jesus?  He, the Son, always shines, and He always has my back. Yes, just like the sun, He shows up in the morning whether we ask Him to or not.  And just like the sun, He gives us light to light our way.  And just like the sun, His presence shines wherever it will.  In our faces, at our side, and even at our backs. Funny thing is, no matter where it shines, most of us are glad we have the opportunity to see it and feel its warmth another day.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world.  He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12 NKJV

Such a powerful statement! Think about it.  The light that the world knows and relies on is that of the sun.  Does it not rise every morning around the world to light it up?  Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the sun. After all, God created it!  It has its purpose in the earth.  However, the sun just as it rises, also sets.   Jesus on the other hand does not!  He never disappears on us!  Whether it is morning, day, or night Jesus never leaves us!  That is a hallelujah moment!  He is the true light of the world!  The light of Jesus is the light of life!  When we choose to plug into the power source of Christ Jesus Himself, we never have to worry about the lights going out or setting!    Even more awesome is that we will never walk in darkness!

Light changes your perspective!  Typically, when we walk into a room the first thing we do is turn on the light. Especially, if we are looking for something.  There is no sense in searching in the dark!  It would make no sense.  So, why would we choose to go through life in the dark?  Flip the switch already!  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  Psalm 119:105 KJV  The bible is not just some words that were thrown together.  Jesus is the word, and the word is light!  Read it!  Stay plugged in!

How do you plug into The Light of the world?  I am so glad you asked!  First of all, the good news is that it’s free!  Secondly, if you haven’t already, choose to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior!  Lastly, you begin to build a relationship with Him and living according the blueprint He has provided us, the Bible.  This is why it is important to read it.  You’re building not only a relationship with the Lord, but also building yourself up in Him.  Stay connected!  If you’d like to give your life to Christ today, please go to the Prayer of Salvation page on this site. Leave a comment and let us know you’ve joined God’s family!

So, when you find yourself feeling the warmth of the sun, let it be a reminder that the Sonshine is shining on you!

Blessings to you
