You Can’t Sit Down Now

I know you’re tired. I know it hurts. I know it’s hard. But you can’t give up now! You’ve come so far, and the progress you’ve made in this year alone is noteworthy! You may not be where you want to be, but you’re further ahead than you’ve ever been. The track before you may look like it will never end, or perhaps, the finish line looks too far away… I get it! However, let me encourage you with this. You’re closer than you think! Yes, closer to that miracle. The breakthrough. The promotion. That healing. It’s all about perception! We’re in the month of September. What does that mean? Well, my pastor has been teaching us that we’re in the ninth month, and closer to giving birth. Giving birth to the dream or vision that God gave us, and for some physical birth of a child. That is exciting news right? Remember that God is not a respecter of person, so this applies to you too! Keep running!

Pump those arms and kick up those legs! Do you feel that spiritual adrenaline rush? You should, because hopefully, even if you’re still in the middle of the race you’ve gotten a glimpse of the prize! Pace yourself and breathe! Keep running! What has hindered you? Why do you feel like giving up? Better yet, why are you sitting down in the middle of the race? Have you ever seen a race where the runner sits down in the middle of the track, and just gives up? Certainly not! News flash, even the last of the runners cross the finish line!

I considered and observed on earth the following: The race doesn’t go to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor food to the wise, nor wealth to the smart, nor recognition to the skilled. Instead, timing and circumstances meet them all. Ecclesiastes 9:11 ISV

Maybe, you’re sitting down and wanting to give up, because you just went through a bad breakup. Maybe, it’s because you just lost a loved one. Perhaps, you just lost your job. Perhaps, you have a job, but still can’t seem to make “ends meet”. Quite possibly, it is none of these reasons at all. Regardless, you know the reason you’re not in motion. However, did you catch what the above verse said? There are circumstances that we all face in this life that sometimes seem to knock the wind out of us, but we are still given the race to run!

You’re not going to win, because you’re fast. Nor, because you’re strong. You will win because God has already ordained it in His plan of redemption for your life! Can I tell you that you’ve already won? You became a winner the very moment you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior! Hallelujah! So, I don’t care what the track you’re on looks like! GET UP! Run my friend, and run well! You have to finish this race! You will finish this race! You can’t sit down now! Too many lives depend on it, including yours!
